Attention Californians! Hey California folks,

There was a letter to the editor today in the "Desert Dispatch" newspaper - which serves Barstow and the surrounding areas.

The letter was a homophobic diatribe against Mark Leno's bill, SB1437, which would provide for equal time and instruction in public school classrooms to acknowledge the positive contributions of GLBT people to California history, science, and other important issues. I followed the instructions in the letter to let the Governator know my feelings on the matter... all but the last instruction.

I quote from the letter, with two small changes enclosed in [brackets] to show my edits.

Governor Schwarzennegger has set up a special phone line for your input on this bill. Simply dial 1-916-445-2841, there will be a recorded message, press 1 for English, then at "Is this about legislation bill?" press 2 for yes, then at the "Is the bill SB1437?" press 1 for yes, and finally at "Are you in favor of this legislation" press [1 for YES]. Less than 30 seconds of your time can [SAVE] this bill.
